The global time sets the maximum time for each measurement. The instrument will automatically stop the instrument when the global time is reached.
For sound intensity measurements by scanning, we recommend setting the global time to minimum the double of the expected measurement time. Then the measurement time will be dictated by the time spent on the scanning.
For fixed-point measurements, the measurement time is usually also fixed. Setting up the global time to a standard value makes all measurements average over the same time.
