Select the desired scanning direction. Affects the progress of a measurement.
Only the horizontal scanning direction of a segment is measured.
Only the vertical scanning direction of a segment is measured.
Both horizontal and vertical scanning directions of a segment is measured.
For fixed-point measurements or measurements where scanning repeatability is not required, only one measurement per segment is required. Select Horizontal by default.
The function of this selection is mainly the progression of selected segment when measuring a surface. When measuring using alternative Both, the instrument expects two measurements per segments before the next segment is automatically selected.
Each segment is marked with the corresponding letter (H, V or H+V) to indicate which direction that is measured. When two measurements have been performed, the segment total is the average of the two values.
If a standard requires that two orthogonal scans are done pr segment, the frame around a segment will be red if only one is measured, thus indicating that a measurement is lacking.
