Action A

In the presence of significant extraneous noise and/or strong reverberation, reduce the average distance of the measured surface from the source to a minimum average value of 0.25 m. In the absence of significant extraneous noise and/or strong reverberation, increase the average measurement distance to 1 m.

Action B

Shield the measurement surface from extraneous noise sources or take action to reduce sound reflections towards the source.
